Office XP Tweaks - Control Error Reporting with Office XP

Office XP includes a feature which will send debug information to Microsoft if an error occurs in one of the Office XP applications.

To disable this, follow the next steps:

  1. Open the Registry Editor click on the Start button on your taskbar, then click on Run and type "regedit" and click on OK to start the regedit utility.
     

  2. Expand HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Common (see picture 1).

    Create the following DWORD values and set them to "1".

    • DWNeverUpload
    • DWNoExternalURL
    • DWNoFileCollection
    • DWNoSecondLevelCollection

    Expand HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Office\10.0\Common (see picture 2).

    Create the following DWORD values and set them to "1".

    • DWNeverUpload
    • DWNoExternalURL
    • DWNoFileCollection
    • DWNoSecondLevelCollection
       
  3. The modifications you made will be in effect after you restart Office.
